With the stunning weather we’ve been having recently, the north Norfolk coast is the place to be. We’ve already told you about the gems of Cromer, so now it’s Southwold’s time to shine.
Denes Beach
This sandy beach is Southwold’s star attraction, with Blue flag status for environmental excellence, colourful vintage beach huts and Dunes with great views, there’s nothing better than strolling along with some ice cream or some fish and chips – just watch out for the seagulls!
Southwold Pier
This is another picturesque pier, built just at the start of the 20th Century in 1900. It offers a lot for the kids, from a quirky antique arcade to face painting, magic and a pirate show! And for everyone else, it’s a charming walk down one of the most instagrammable piers in the county.
Walberswick Ferry
Take a short trip on a traditional rowboat from Southwold to Walberswick – best of all, it will only set you back £1! It’s a great way to catch your breath and soak in the scenery, and who knows, you might even be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of a seal pup on your way there.
Adnams Distillery Tour/ Make Your Own Gin Experience
We’re sure you love a nice glass of gin on a hot day – but have you ever wondered how this brilliant beverage was made? Why not take a tour in the famous Adnams Distillery and learn the history of your favourite drink, even getting to taste some samples once your tour is finished. And if you’re lucky enough to get a place on the make your own gin experience, you can even make your very own to take home!
The Lord Nelson
Lastly, soak up that lovely gin you’ve made with a slap-up meal at the Lord Nelson. Always packed by locals and tourists alike, it’s a real fixture of the town. We’d recommend trying their delicious battered cod, or treating yourself to Norfolk Mussels in coconut milk, coriander, lemongrass and ginger dressing.
